Set in a quiet tranquil rural setting, our delightfully furnished cottage is located just south of the Loire Valley, in the Department of the Vienne, nestling between the medieval and historic town of Moncontour and the market town of Loudun. The cottage has some exposed stone walls and original beams and briefly comprises: two double bedrooms each with ensuite shower-rooms. The largest has two double beds and the other one double and one single bed (a cot can also be supplied for baby). Downstairs there is a large lounge with original fireplace and wood burning stove and free to view English T.V and radio.there is a separate good size kitchen/dining room fully equipped with gas cooker, fridge, freezer microwave and washing machine.Outside there is a pretty secluded courtyard and also use of the owners large private garden leading down to the gently flowing river Dive. There is plenty to see and do within the area, many interesting Chateaux to visit, lovely leisure lake with beach, tele-ski, pedalos and bar/restaurant. A choice of golf courses are within easy driving distance, as well as go-karting, gliding and major theme parks (Futuroscope & Puy du Fou). Of course wine tasting venues abound within the area and there many interesting walks and cycling through the countryside with endless supply of nature at it's best - sunflowers surrounding us in the months of July & August. |
